You’ve definitely seen the wave of Instagram pods to “help” everyone get more engagement.
But are the Instagram engagement pods still worth it ? We’re gonna see why Instagram pods are actually bad for you in 2019.
Just, first, if you don’t know what’s an Instagram pod you can find it here.
Instagram detects fake comments
If everyone in your pod is commenting 2 words or 3 emojis…Instagram flag those comments as spam.
Usually, in pods, people are tired after commenting on 20 posts a day…
They will probably not think about what they are really writing or will repeat the same sentence everywhere.
That’s bad for you…the algorithm will punish your posts for that.
Yes you’re getting engagement…for a moment
In the beginning, we’re so happy to see that everyone is liking and commenting on our posts.
Unfortunately, you’ll start to notice that everyone will start to post their links…Without engaging with you.
The other problem is when you forget to post your link in the group…or what if you want to stop for a while to engage in the pod ?
Well, you’ll lose your engagement.
The algorithm of Instagram rewards you when you get engagement.
Let’s supposed that you usually get 50 people to like and comment on your post in the first 10 min.
One day you don’t have those 50 people…ok…
Well the algorithm, since it’s a machine, will understand that your posts are not really interesting and will actually kill your engagement.
How do I get more engagement then ?
I usually teach this to my students on the exclusive group or via coaching call.
But here’s a free tip for you.
Create meaningful conversations.
When people feel a part of a conversation, they tend to engage way more !
How can you do that ?
Ask questions in the captions.
Take care of your audience like in The I Care Method.
Be relatable by opening up in stories..
